At early posts you had the opportunity to read about the new tools and software relases in the Autodesk subscription portal. So, here I have something very interesting from Heidi Hewlett (Adsk). She produced in december a collection of video clips about the functions and abilities that you will get, when you install the two available Bonus Packs for AutoCAD  2009.

Wie ich schon in früheren Posts erwähnte, gibt es viel Neues im Subscription Portal von Autodesk. Heidi Hewlett (AdsK) hat als Ergänzung zu den AutoCAD Bonus Packs ein paar Videos aufgezeichnet die Ihnen die verschieden Funktionen der Tools vorstellt die Ihnen durch die Installation der beiden Packs zur Verfügung stehen.

Also Lautsprecher an und Aplaus für Heidi Hewlett. 🙂

Gerade bei der Nutzung von viel Arbeitsspeicher ist auf die Ruhezustand-Funktion (Hibernate) von Vista zu achten. Im speziellen auf die Datei hiberfil.sys, in die beim aktivieren des Ruhezustands der Inhalt des RAM kopiert wird, denn diese ist ebenso groß wie der RAM selbst, sind also 8 GB RAM installiert, wird dieselbe Menge auf der Festplatte reserviert, auch wenn diese Funktion nie verwendet wird.

 

Außerdem ist zu beachten, dass der Nutzen des Ruhezustands mit größer RAM-Speichermengen immer fraglicher wird. Denn es wird natürlich mehr Zeit für das Schreiben der 8 GB (Beim Herunterfahren des Rechners)und Lesen (Beim Hochfahren) des Systems benötigt, als bei einem normalen Systemstart. Die Zeit ist auch von der Nutzung des Speichers abhängig: „Ist nur 1 GB belegt, so werden auch nur diese Daten auf die Festplatte geschrieben!“

Eine Systemsteuerungsoption für den Ruhezustand  (wie bei Windows XP) gibt es in Windows Vista nicht mehr. Um die Funktion auszuschalten, müssen Sie die Eingabeaufforderung (Start/Ausführen, „cmd.exe“) aktivieren und den nachstehenden Befehl eingegeben:

powercfg -H off

Um den Ruhezustand wieder zu aktivieren nutzen Sie:

powercfg -H on

Bitten nicht vergessen:
Ist die UAC  (User Access control) aktiv, muss die Eingabeaufforderung als Administrator ausgeführt werden.

Apropos böse Geister! -Der Bereich Dynamic Simulation ist nicht jedermanns Sache oder? Aber die Sache ist doch wirklich gut, wenn man es kann! Leider fehlt es immer noch an einer Buchveröffentlichung  zu diesem Thema. Ich habe da was für Sie, sozusagen als kleines Geschenk zum neuen Jahr. Das ADA2008 Handout von Wasim Younis aus England. Er arbeite übrigens an einem Buch, dass zur Veröffentlichung ansteht wenn Inventor 2010 freigegeben wird, ich werde Sie da auf dem Laufenden halten.

Oh, by the way, speaking about evil spirits! -The dynamic simulation in Inventor isn’t a easy handling thing, am I right? -but at least the functionality is great when you know how to handle it. Apparently a good book with detailed introduction to dynamic Simulation is missing in the moment (so I think you may agree on that),to help you out at this point I have here a kind of new years present.

The ADA2008 Handout from Wasim Younis from England. He is in the moment working on a book about Inventor dynamic simulation. It will be published during release pirot of Inventor 2010. Don’t worry I will keep you in the loop and will inform you when it is out.

Hello everybody,
how was Christmas? I hope you had a great time and you got a lot of presents. I really enjoyed the tome off business and playing with the kids around the Christmas tree. 🙂

Now back to the topic, over time I finished the development of a Ford GT40 Model in Max. The intention was to families my self with modelling in Max. Now with a finished Modell I transferred it to showcase and created a scene for the new calender page.

Oh just jocking, close to the Christmas holidays, but atleast it needs to be explained. I know there are a lot of words that can cause misunderstanding, this one is a nice one I think. Let’s take the situation two persons are talking about the Boss Hoss and the BossHoss you see where the problem is?

The BossHoss (Germany):
OK, OK, I know that we here in Germany also have a big Community around the original American Boss Hoss, but it also means Music, because we have here the band the BossHoss. This means both are cool (from my personal view). So there can be a little issue in the exchange and discussion when you talk about Boss Hoss. 🙂
